Moon Valley

La Paz

3 days

La Paz,  the city that touches the clouds,  is located high above sea level and sits in a bowl surrounded by the high Altiplano. One of the two Capitals of Bolivia, La Paz has retained its character with centuries old traditions, colonial and modern cultures and beliefs woven into one tapestry.

La Paz is renowned for its mix of old and new, with modern sky-scrapers, ornate colonial churches, the mysterious moon valley and the bustling witches’ market. The city’s buildings cling to the sides of the canyon and spill spectacularly downwards and overlooking the city is the towering triple-peaked Illimani, always snow covered and majestic.
