Rio de Janeiro – Copacabana!

Rio de Janeiro is the ‘Cidade Maravilhosa’ (Marvellous City). By day enjoy the glistening waters and white beaches of Copacabana, Ipanema and Leblon, where the ‘cariocas’ – locals – come to socialise, exercise and bask in the sun. By night enjoy the fabulous barbecue restaurants and jazz clubs and soak up the rhythms of the samba. Your stay will be at the world famous Copacabana Beach zone.

Day 1

ARRIVE RIO DE JANEIRO

Arrive into Rio de Janeiro, Brazil’s cidade maravilhosa (marvellous city) with beautiful beaches, fascinating rhythms, picturesque bays, and vibrant people. On arrival you will be met and taken to your hotel, which is situated in the lively Copacabana Beach zone.

Day 2

RIO DE JANEIRO

This morning you will be taken on a tour by convertible Jeep to Corcovado, located in the Tijuca Atlantic Forest, the largest urban forest in the world, to see the statue of Christ the Redeemer, one of Rio’s most famous postcards. From Corcovado, one can see the beaches of Copacabana, Ipanema and Leblon, the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon and the Botanical Garden. Make a stop at D.Marta Belvedere for views of  Maracanã stadium, Guanabara Bay and Sugar Loaf. Continue to Santa Teresa, a traditional district with a mild climate and big houses from the beginning of the century, built mainly by English railroad managers. It has become an art centre with many craft galleries is and the only district in Rio with a trolley car. Return to your hotel. Afternoon at leisure. Tonight perhaps take in a Samba Show with a BBQ Dinner. (Not included) B.

Day 3

RIO DE JANEIRO

Morning at leisure. This afternoon you will be taken on a tour of the city including the downtown area and a cable car ascent of Sugar Loaf Mountain for superb views of one of the world’s most beautiful harbours. B.

Day 4

DEPART RIO DE JANEIRO

Transfer to the airport for your departure flight..B.
