The Singular Santiago

4 Days

Built to blend seamlessly into the Neighbourhood Lastarria, The Singular Santiagocombines the style of early 20th century buildings with neoclassical French architectural influences. The result is a striking new addition to the Santiago cityscape.

The hotel’s design embraces the artistic heritage of the neighborhood, while adding a cutting-edge modernity: it is an innovative homage to the city’s history and culture. The interior of the hotel recalls the days of yore: a tribute to the palaces of past centuries that sets the tone for the entire environment. Each doorway is a portal not just into another room, but to another place: a Singular setting with an ambiance all its own.

Everywhere you go in this Santiago hotel, you’ll experience yet another pleasant surprise. The endlessly indulgent Spa. The superlative dining experience at the Singular Restaurant. The dazzling views and refreshing cocktails in the ninth floor Sky Bar. Step out onto the elevated terrace, and you’re treated to a spectacular view: the Parque Forestal, an arboreal escape right alongside the hotel, and enjoy the Roof Top Swimming Pool.

The hotel is not only bounded by natural beauty, though; Lastarria is the epicenter of the arts here in Santiago. Walk just a few minutes, and you can discover some of the finest visual and performance art Chile has to offer at The Museum of Fine Arts, The Museum of Visual Arts, the Gabriela Mistral Center and more.

Day 2

SANTIAGO

This morning enjoy a tour of Santiago, commencing downtown with Palacio de La Moneda Presidential Palace which, was originally a colonial mint. Continue to the Plaza de Armas, Cathedral and Central Post Office. A short walk away is the Museum of pre-Hispanic Art with over 700 exhibits. Continue to San Cristobal Hill for a panoramic view of the city and the omnipresent Andes. Afternoon at leisure for shopping or perhaps to explore the city. The metro station is nearby and is ideal for getting around Santiago. There are many cafés, pubs and restaurtants in the vicinity to dine out this evening.

Day 3

SANTIAGO

Today take a drive to Chile’s central coast, to picturesque Valparaíso, one of the first Chilean cities founded by the Spanish. The city is a historic port and university town, famous for its labyrinth hills, which are covered in quaint, colorful old houses and accessible only by a steep climb or by the city’s unique system of funicular railways. A thriving port for centuries, modern Valparaíso remains Chile’s primary outlet to the sea.  After years of earthquakes, gloom and decay, the historic port and university town is now living something of a revival, culminating in UNESCO naming Valparaíso’s Historic Quarter a World Heritage Site in 2003. One of the highlights of the tour will surely be Chilean Nobel Prize-winning poet Pablo Neruda’s residence, “La Sebastiana”. The house is full to the brim with the eccentric genius’ keepsakes from his many trips abroad, as well as an extensive library. Travel to Viña del Mar, Chile’s fashionable beach resort and take time to wander. Enjoy wine tasting at Viña Casas del Bosque. Back to The Singular Hotel. B.
