Just touching base with you to let you know that everything went very smoothly for us in Ecuador, Bolivia and Chile.
We really enjoyed our time in Quito and our day trips before we went to Galapagos.. The accommodation was lovely at Casona de la Ronda, although it did get a little noisy at times on the weekend. It was great staying in the old part of the city and we certainly could have done with some more time and travelled down to Banos and Cuenca. Maybe next trip !!
Napo Lodge was fabulous and we would recommend for any of your clients to go there. They did not put a foot wrong, – location, food, accommodation, excursions and staff were excellent. It was a real adventure just to get there after the change of airport from Coca to Lago Agrio. As it was so close to the Colombian border and associated drug problems there were armed guards at the airport, an armed escort on our minibus and a police escort to the Napo River, but we never felt unsafe. The paddle canoe journey into Yasuni National Park and the lake on which the lodge is situated was fantastic and we saw so many birds and animals.
The salt lake at Uyuni was amazing, although when we got off the plane there it was minus 13, only to get colder as our journey progressed. (we were prepared !) The accommodation at the Salt Hotel was interesting and very different – all part of the experience and the food was good.
We just loved the trip over the Bolivian Altiplano, the colourful lakes, flamingos and fabulous scenery, and we had a very pleasant, good guide and driver. The Tayka Desierto Lodge at Soniquera appeared in the middle of nowhere in the freezing cold, – we had sheet ice on the inside of the window of our room even though we were quite warm and comfortable. The food was unexpectedly good and very well presented. Perhaps it would be wise to notify your further clients if they are not already acclimatised, that the altitude here is 4600 metres !
Tierra Atacama was wonderful, – the food, accommodation, excursions and staff and we would recommend for any of your clients to stay there. So thank you very much for your organisation and we will be in touch next time when we travel back to other regions of South America.

It is indeed a great pleasure to write and thank you for the wonderful services offered and provided for my 3 weeks trip through South A. Without question one of the most delightful places to visit in the world. I cannot find the words to describe not only the high level of professionalism displayed by your staff but especially their genuine interest in me not just as a customer, but as an individual and a friend. This effort, let me make clear, was beyond the call of duty and must be mentioned. I am already looking forward to my next trip.
We have been booking through Robyn Smith since 1996 and have been very happy with the way we have been looked after and Robyn has gone beyond the call of duty to arrange our holidays to our desires always with a good end result. On our last trip to South America our first port of call was Santiago, Chile. Our travel agent Robyn suggested we stay in a boutique hotel for a change, this is something we had not done on any of our other trips before. On landing in Santiago, Chile we were transferred to the Le Reve Boutique Hotel, how nice it looked from outside. We received a very warm welcome from the staff after checking in and we were then shown to a very comfortable room, that overlooked the courtyard and garden where we sat for breakfast. The hotel was just lovely, we stayed 4 nights before continuing our holiday of 5 weeks.
About 2 and a half weeks into our trip, we were walking up a small incline and my husband started complaining of chest pains, the nightmare began, 5 days in intensive care, 1 week in hospital and 1 week we had to stay put. The rest of the trip was cancelled of course, we slowly made our way back to Santiago to wait till our return flight home to Sydney, Robyn had managed to get a room at Le Reve Hotel for the remaining time in South America until our flight left to Sydney.
We cannot express our gratitude enough to the staff of Le Reve for their kindness and helpfullness in our time of need in our very difficult situation whilst away, nothing was to much trouble for them.
We will be eternally grateful for Robyn’s help as well.

Movidas Journeys arranged a 5 week trip through Argentina and Chile for me and my husband in 2010. We were originally going to organise the trip ourselves over the internet and were so glad we chose Robyn Smith from Movidas Journeys to help us Robyn understood what we wanted to see and do and planned a magical itinerary for us – including a few wonderful surprises!. Our accommodation and travel arrangements all worked like clock work, including being personally met at each transit point. We felt like we were on a wonderful tour for just the two of us with all the arrangements having been taken care of. We were free to just enjoy the splendour of South America without any hassles.
During our holidays an earthquake occurred in Chile, which was devastating to the country at the time. Thank goodness we had Robyn looking after our holiday – she worked around the clock re-arranging our itinerary and was in constant contact with us in South America. We were totally looked after by Robyn’s operations in South America during the entire trip and they went out their way to help us. I can highly recommend Robyn Smith and Movidas Journeys and can’t wait for our next trip which will certainly be arranged by Robyn.
Hello Paula, Robyn and Colleagues,
We would like to thank you for the wonderful job you did organising our holiday for us. All went smoothly and the places and hotel you arranged were all brilliant. It all felt very personal and the guides and drivers were, without exception, friendly and helpful. Thanks for the great job, we will be living on the memories of this holiday for a long time. We will definitely recommend you and your company to anyone we know considering travelling to South America. Thanks again.

I can’t stress enough how helpful the tour operators here have been – great folk. Thanks again for all your assistance in helping us have the best holiday of our lives.

Robyn has in depth and current knowledge of South America. She was able to come up with a workable and enjoyable itinerary for our ambitious ‘wish list’ with minimum of fuss and made lots of useful suggestions that made the difference between a good trip and a great trip. Movidas’ in-country operators are reliable, knowledgeable, flexible and enthusiastic.
We are back from a fantastic time in S.America, we were extremely lucky to have great weather in Antarctica and had a great time. Everything else that you organised for us went extremely well so this is just a quick email to say thank you for making it happen for us. We were always met on time by friendly, courteous people with good english who couldn’t do enough for us.
Once again a big thank you.
